Home euthanasia of dogs and cats for a private and peaceful
farewell. 386-562-5329
Serving the Volusia and Flagler Counties

Angels At The End is a veterinary service established exclusively for euthanasia of dogs and cats at the home of their owner. Some veterinarians are able to offer home euthanasia to their clients, but not all clinics can have a doctor be away during office hours. Contact your veterinarian when you are ready to say a final farewell to your pet, and if they cannot schedule a home euthanasia please contact Angels At The End.
Angels At The End is available from 9 to 5 on
weekdays. Evening and weekend
appointments are by advance arrangement.
This is not an emergency service.
In an emergency, you need to take your pet to your regular daytime
veterinarian or to an emergency clinic if after-hours. Appropriate tests can be performed there to
determine ALL the possible treatment options you have with your pet.
It can be difficult to decide when it is time to
euthanize your pet. Their lives are so
precious to us that we do not want to have our pets suffer needlessly or say
goodbye to them too soon. Your
veterinarian, who knows your pet and its medical history, is best equipped to
help you decide when it is time. While
the veterinarian at Angels At The End can discuss established indications for
quality of life, the medical decision to choose euthanasia is ultimately between
you and your veterinarian.
All pets receive a sedative injection as the first
part of the euthanasia process. This
allows them to relax and fall asleep while being petted or held by you. The last thing they remember is your touch
and voice. After your pet is asleep and
no longer aware of its surroundings, the euthanasia injection will be
given. All steps of this process and
what to expect will be explained to you.
Once your pet has passed away, a clay paw imprint will be made for you
to preserve. Your pet’s body will be
wrapped in a soft cloth made specifically for this purpose and suitable for
burial. Cremation can be arranged if
desired.
Because the death of a pet can be a difficult time,
Angels At The End has a grief resources handout. There are many books, websites, and hotlines available to help
you and some designed especially to help children.
Please return to this website in the future as it is
under construction. In coming weeks,
look for links to grief resources and a memorial page. It is the goal of Angels At The End to make
the end of your pet’s life as comfortable as possible for you and your pet.
